About the Role

PulseWave Labs is seeking a  Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient systems across cloud-native environments. This position requires expertise in application security, infrastructure security, threat detection, and engineering best practices in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement security controls across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.

Conduct security assessments, code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows for production systems.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure architecture and DevSecOps practices.

Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and testing workflows.

Improve system reliability, performance, and automation with a security-first approach.

Maintain compliance with security standards and industry best practices.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and documentation of security processes.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as a Security Engineer, Application Security Engineer, or Infra Security Engineer (Pleno level).

Strong knowledge of modern programming languages (Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).

Experience with cloud-native security (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Experience securing distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and container-based environments.

Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps tooling.

Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (Snyk, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite), SIEM platforms, and IAM.

Understanding of security standards (OWASP Top 10, CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001).

Nice to Have

Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).

Familiarity with Terraform, IaC security, and Kubernetes hardening.

Experience with advanced monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).

Experience building incident response plans or handling security incidents.

Previous experience working in global distributed teams.
